- Probably keep me well fed when I was at home like, just bringing me snacks and bringing me food. Like that was the best. - They give me a lot of space and just let me be alone. - Often my mum makes me food when I'm like, studying. - The food was cooked. - During HSC my mum used to like just bring me cups of tea and like peanuts. - They give me my space, you know, so I can do the work without getting distracted. - They also pushed me to keep, make sure I'm still studying. They'd come and check on me, are you studying, I'm like yes. - My mum was really good during the HSC in helping me create a study timetable. She wasn't putting a lot of pressure on me having to do well, it was just making sure that I was actually doing something. - Sometimes they helped me make a schedule just so it's clear what I have to do and when. - Not putting that pressure on. It's all about what I want to do. - Just kind of let me know that it wasn't the end of the world and that I wasn't a failure if things didn't go perfectly. - The best thing you can hear when you're stressed about exams is that it's not gonna determine the trajectory of the rest of your life. - They actually like helped me study, like sat me down, like quizzed me. - Just being there is enough. - My mum always brings me bowls of fruit which is really sweet. Personally I like to nibble on food while I'm studying. And she knows that so that's the sort of thing she does.
